Blog 4: Favorite Series/Movie

Imagen
Hi everyone :) Today the class decided to talk about favorite series or movie. Well, for me it's very difficult to decide because I have a lot of favorite series and movies. But I will talk about a series that I like whose second season comes out July 31st! It's called The Umbrella Academy! I really like this series because I love superhero comics and this series is precisely about that haha. The series is about a billionaire named Sir Reginald Hargreeves who adopts 7 children and gives them numbers from 1-7 instead of numbers. However, their robot-mother ends up naming all of them <3 The billionaire is very abusive towards them and trains them to fight crime because they all have different powers. The series stars Ellen Page and also one of my favorite singers, Mary J. Blige, plays one of the villains. I like most of the characters, so I can't decide who is my favorite. I won't give any spoilers, but the series is very entertaining, dark, and mysterious. If you ha...

Blog 3: Quarantine Activities

Imagen
Hi everyone, Hope all is well. So today the class decided to talk about quarantine activities. I have been in quarantine since March 18th and I must say that I am used to it :O I don't even remember when it became mandatory in my district (I live in downtown Santiago or Santiago Centro). I usually leave the house once a week to buy groceries at the Colombian mini-markets and buy fruit from the street. It is a big procedure haha. Normally, I go on the computer in the morning after eating breakfast to look at news and read students' emails and correct homework. I also plan classes and check blogs. Then I eat lunch and have classes. After I watch series on Netflix (currently I'm watching Legion, Summertime, The Disastrous Life of Saiki Kusuo) and prepare the "once" or tea time. After that, I go shower and watch more series until falling asleep. During my free time, on weekends, I wake up later and read. Currently I'm reading Rayuela (Hopscotch in English) b...

Blog 2: The best vacation or concert ever

Imagen
Hi everyone! Today I am going to talk about the best vacation ever. In March 2014, I went to Puerto Rico with my mom and brother. We were there for about a week and it was so much fun. Although, We had travelled to Puerto Rico before, this time it was particularly fun and special. We visited our friend, Oriana, who is Chilean and has a gift shop in old San Juan city. She went to Puerto Rico after Pinochet's coup in 1973.  Some of the fun things we did were going to the movies, swimming in the ocean, and exploring San Juan city. There is a book store that I really like because in the United States I could never find books in Spanish and in this trip I bought books by Eduardo Galeano and Gioconda Belli.  I really like going to Puerto Rico because from the United States it is easy and cheap to visit and also I like how they mix Spanish and English together. Hurricane Maria devasted the island and many people died (at first they said 64 and and in the end it was almost 3,000!)...
